Our most popular headbox can be used successfully on every
grade of paper, board and pulp. The Pro Forma design lets the
operator tune flow velocities and turbulence level. The two
inside rolls have a wake-free design to allow operation at
speeds 50% faster than conventional holey roll headboxes.

For the world's fastest twin wire machines, Hogenkamp
Research has designed a different headbox concept. One which is
based on the well known stability of extrusion forming as
opposed to the free jet instability inherent with conventional
hydraulic headboxes.
Traditionally used on linerboard machines, the secondary
headbox is finding new usefulness as a dilution profiling tool
where mills do not want to rebuild the primary headbox. It is
also an economical means of adding a middle ply of low-cost
furnish. For smoothness enhancement the secondary headbox adds a
top coat of stock which fills in the valleys of the base ply.
This is the Pro Forma design with an extrusion lip over the a
closed forming board. It allows slow running machines to benefit
from the special design attributes of the Jetstream headbox
above. The main benefit is a wider range of control over md:cd
fiber orientation.
Over 2,000 wake-free rolls have been installed worldwide on
both new and existing headboxes. The radial tube design creates
a wide range of formation enhancing turbulence levels.
